National Mausoleum Karachi is the place where the history of Pakistan exists with grandeur and majesty. The most prominent tourist destinaton of Karachi,Sindh, Pakistan is Mazar-e-Quaid.

National Mausoleum: Introduction
Here the national leader of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah,is buried and its the resting place of him because he devoted all his life for the humanity and Pakistan. Although he died in Quetta but because of his attachment to the city of Karachi, It was chosen for his tomb. Mazar-e-Quaid is also known as Jinnah Mausoleum.

National Mausoleum: Location
National Mausoleum surrounded with a very calm environment and a vast garden, is located near Gulashan Iqbal of Karachi, Sndh, Pakistan. It was completed in June 1970. Mazar-e-Quaid is under management of Mazar Management Board.

National Mausoleum: Architecture
The Jinnah Mausoleum was designed by famous Indian architect Yahya Merchant. It covers the area of 3,100 square metres. Each wall of Mazar-e-Quaid has an entrance. The inner section of National Mausoleum  has five graves of political leaders ,made of Italian white marble. No one can neglect the splended appeal of Mazar-e-Quaid.

National Mausoleum  also has tombs of many famous political leaders who sacrificed their lives for the existance of Pakistan e.g the first Prime Minister of Pakistan Liaquat Ali Khan, Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, Nurul Amin( the only Vice-President of Paksitan), Abdur Rab Nishtar and Pakistan's Mader-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah. All graves are plain  but Fatima Jinnah's has floral ornamentation.

National Mausoleum: Things to do
Many people visit Mazar-e-Quaid to pay their respect to Quaid-e-Azam and to watch the chaging of guards ceremony that takes place there everyday. Another important think about this National Mausoleum is that it is free from the congested environment of Karachi, any one can spend his leisure time and enjoy the spectacular view of Mazar-e-Quaid. You can also visit the museum attached to it.

National Mausoleum: Conclusion
Mazar-e-Quaid is an iconic symbol of Karachi which shines with lights in night and is visible from far off places. Many military and official events take place in National Mausoleum. Even dignitaries of foreign countries, during their tours to Pakistan also visit National Mausoleum of Pakistan. I have to say that it is the most well maintained monument of Pakistan and huge number of visitors come here to pay homage to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
